After a seamless couple of flights, and without a covid test or luggage issue in sight, we arrived in (sunny!) London. We made our way to our Airbnb, via train to Paddington then to Charing Cross, which was situated above The Admiralty pub and had a window overlooking Trafalgar Square.
After waking at 5.30am and starting the day with a run through St James Park (feat. Steph sqee’ing at the squirrels), we found ourselves some breakfast bagels and half decent coffee in Soho. For old times sake we visited Primark on Oxford Street, then headed to Hyde Park and wandered through the wildflower gardens.

Dinner at Ottolenghi’s ROVI
Given Steph is part of the cult of Melbourne Ottolenghi enthusiasts, we thought it was only appropriate to eat at one of his various London restaurants. We settled on ROVI in Soho and couldn’t have been more delighted with our choice. The grilled leeks with sage butter, the Jerusalem mixed grill with mushrooms and the fennel meringue with lemon curd, lime & pastis sorbet were our standout dishes.
